James Hambro & Partners (JH&P) has scooped the wealth manager of the year accolade at the Portfolio Adviser Wealth Manager Awards.
JH&P was lauded for consistency across its cautious, balanced and aggressive portfolios at a ceremony at the Corinthia Hotel in London on Thursday.
The event was hosted by Portfolio Adviser editorial director Dylan Emery who presented platinum and gold prizes to large firms, with more than £3bn in assets under management, and boutiques.
As well as being recognised for cautious, balanced and aggressive portfolios, prizes were handed out to wealth managers in three new categories: best diversity initiative, ESG innovator and digital innovation (see full list of winners below).
The awards were sponsored by Schroders and judged by an independent judging panel made up of individuals who each provided their own expertise in wealth manager selection.
This judging panel included experienced individuals from leading financial planners, law firms, accountancy practices, consultancy businesses and trust companies, who all have experience placing private client investment mandates with wealth management firms (see list below).
Criteria
Judging the awards for the Cautious, Balanced and Aggressive portfolios is a two-step process involving a qualitative and a quantitative stage.
The first step gives wealth managers the chance to pitch exactly how they would manage a client’s wealth based on separate scenarios via a series of set questions.
The second part looks at performance data with summary analysis from Enhance Group.
Judging for the diversity, ESG and digital innovation awards is based on entrants’ answers to set questions, asking them to explain how they have implemented these themes in their company and how it has benefited clients – and give examples to back it up.
