Fund selectors from BMO Global, Brewin Dolphin, Morningstar, Premier Miton and Rathbones are all in the running to win the Fund Selection Team of the Year accolade in Portfolio Adviser’s inaugural Wealth Partnership Awards. The admittedly not-so-short shortlist for one of our centrepiece awards is completed by Apollo, EQ Investors, FE Investments, Investec, Quilter Cheviot and Smart IM.
The Wealth Partnership Awards have been designed to recognise and reward excellence across key elements of the UK’s wealth and asset management businesses – including, crucially, where the two sectors work together in partnership to generate wealth for end-investors.
Earlier this year, Portfolio Adviser invited nominations for individuals, teams and companies in the wealth and asset management sectors who our readers believe have gone the extra mile over the last year or so. The hundreds of nominees were then asked to complete a short questionnaire outlining why they ought to win and our shortlists were created on the strength of these. Over the coming weeks, two expert panels of judges will decide the identities of the winners.
As you can see below, the other wealth management shortlists are for Rising Star (individual), Rising Star (business) and ESG Advocate, which is open to businesses, teams and individuals. There is no shortlist for the headline Wealth Manager of the Year (business) accolade, with the winner being announced on the night.
Investment Team of the Year
Turning to the asset management element of the Wealth Partnership Awards, fund managers from Baillie Gifford, Franklin Templeton, Gresham House, Lightman IM, Murdoch AM, Ninety One, Rathbone Brothers and Vontobel AM make up the shortlist for the Investment Team of the Year award. The other asset management shortlists are for Distribution Team of the Year and ESG Advocate while, again, there is no shortlist for the Asset Manager of the Year (business) accolade, with the winner announced on the night.
Completing the awards are a combined Marketing/Digital Initiative of the Year category open to both wealth and asset managers and we will also reveal the recipients of our Contribution to Inclusivity and Contribution to Wellbeing on the night.
Originally due to happen this month, the Wealth Partnership Awards have been pushed back to 30 November as a result of the lockdown. For more details on the occasion, including how to book a table, wealth managers should contact Georgina Westlake while asset managers should contact Samantha Harris
