Paul Patterson is to take over as depty chair, RBC Wealth Management, ultra high net worth – International.

Paul Patterson will be talking on the role following Michael Lagopoulos’ decision to retire at the end of October from the Royal Bank of Canada after 26 years’ service.

Patterson is currently head, global trust and will become deputy chair, RBC Wealth Management, ultra high net worth – International, based in London. His main focus will be to develop the firm’s offering to the very specific client group among the wealthiest international families and institutional clients.

Stuart Rutledge will take over Patterson’s position as head, global trust from his current role as head, global wealth services, strategy and transformation. He will work in the firm’s Jersey office and is charged with developing the business in the UK, Channel Islands and Caribbean.

Both will take on their new roles from 1 October and will continue to report to George Lewis, global head, RBC Wealth Management.
