Rathbones has appointed ex-UBS structured products head Niraj Shah to its research team.
At the FTSE 250 investment manager Shah (pictured) will produce research into global, UK large-cap and specialist healthcare open-ended funds and investment trusts that will help select potential funds for Rathbones strategies. He will report to Rathbones head of collectives research Alex Moore.
Shah has more than two decades’ experience of analysing and investing in global markets across asset and risk classes. He got his start on the structured products side, heading up UBS’ division, followed by Nikko Asset Management where he also served as a portfolio manager.
Most recently he worked for a private investment office, providing advice on asset allocation, portfolio construction and risk management to a high net worth family.
Shah is also a trustee of the Stroke Association and chairs its investment committee. He is a CFA charterholder.
“Niraj’s considerable experience in selecting and monitoring funds for investors seeking exposure to markets and asset classes across the board will augment our capabilities,” Moore said. “He is a very welcome addition to our team.”
