Liddle joins from Brewin Dolphin where he was a divisional director and has 25 years’ investment industry experience including an earlier spell at Bell Lawrie, which was subsequently acquired by Brewin in 1993.

Reporting to Rathbones’ regional director for Edinburgh David Macaulay, Liddle will manage investment portfolios for private clients and their trusts, self-invested personal pensions (SIPPs) and charities.

“Nick has built up an excellent reputation as an investment professional over his 25 years working in Edinburgh’s financial services sector and we are delighted that he has chosen to join Rathbones,” said Macaulay.

“His recruitment underlines our commitment to investing in the best talent to provide first rate client service and ultimately support the growth of the business with his appointment bringing our total headcount in Edinburgh to 44,” he added. “Following the recent opening of our new office in Glasgow and the established Aberdeen office, Scotland now accounts for a significant proportion of Rathbones’ overall business, both in terms of assets and members of staff.”
