Rathbones’ head of investment management to step down

Richard Lanyon, head of investment management at Rathbone Brothers, is to step down.

Lanyon will step down from the position, and from the Rathbones board, “during the course of 2012”, Rathbones said in a statement. He will, however, continue as an investment director managing portfolios for his clients.

Chief operating officer Paul Chavasse will replace Lanyon once he relinquishes the position. Rathbones is now seeking a new COO as a result.

Lanyon joined Rathbones in 1992 to focus on private client discretionary investment management, and was appointed to the company board in March 1996.
