Rathbones has appointed Colin Clark (pictured), who last year stepped down from his role at Standard Life during the announcement of its merger, as non-executive director.
Clark joined Rathbones with effect from 24th October 2018, subject to regulatory approval and will also be a member of the audit, remuneration, risk and nomination committees.
Clark began his career at Mercury Asset Management and Merrill Lynch Investment Managers, where he worked for over 20 years, before he moved to Standard Life Investments in 2004 as non-executive director.
In 2010, he was appointed an executive director of Standard Life Investments and subsequently appointed to the Standard Life Plc board as an executive director with responsibility for the global client group.
He stepped down from this position last August following completion of the merger with Aberdeen Standard.
Currently, Clark is a non-executive director of Axa Investment Managers and chairman of its UK board. He was also formerly a non-executive director at Alpha Strategic and Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust.
Rathbone Brothers chairman Mark Nicholls said Clark’s breadth and depth of experience in the industry would be of great value to the investment manager in the years ahead.
