The firm said it is focused on developing its offering for outsourcing intermediaries and has brought in Butcher and Olliff to help deliver its bespoke investment services to these clients.

Butcher and Olliff most recently held positions at Quartet as investment managers and partners having joined the company from Berry.

Olliff was at Berry Asset Management for six years and prior to that started his investment management career with Adams & Remer.

Meanwhile, Butcher worked for Killik & Co as a private client and branch manager before his stint at Berry.

Stephen Vakil, Quilter’s MD, said: “Following the now formal merger, our immediate priority is to ensure we dovetail the business behind the scenes, minimising any potential disruption to our clients.

“At the same time, our enlarged scale provides us all with considerable opportunities – we have an on-going commitment to continue to deliver to our growing investment teams the market-leading facilities they need to serve their clients.”

Both new appointments will work in the London office investment team, which last year hired Di Griffin and Dan Weale from Kleinwort Benson and Oliver Stainer from Towry.
