Peebles has 26 years’ experience in the Scottish Financial services sector and has held a number of client facing and management roles.

At Close he had responsibilities for a range of client portfolios and provided advice on IHT and Sipps among other areas.

Quilter said it started to provide clients and intermediaries with a dedicated east coast presence in Scotland last year when it appointed Alan Aitchison to head up its newly-opened office in the capital.

Aitchison said: "The last 12 months have been extremely busy. Such is the popularity of our style of personalised investment management services that we quickly recognised the need to strengthen our team to meet the demand.

"I am delighted that Scott has agreed to join us as he brings with him considerable experience of advising private clients on their investment needs and, crucially, knows and understands the Scottish marketplace."

Since the start of the year Quilter has hired eight new recruits for its regional investment management teams.
