Quilter has appointed former Hargreaves Lansdown chief executive Chris Hill (pictured) as an independent non-executive director.

The move, which takes effect from 7 March, will see Hill join the wealth manager’s board and its audit and remuneration committees.

After arriving at Hargreaves as CFO in 2016, Hill took on the top job in April 2017.

He stood down as CEO in October 2022, being succeeded by former Relx CIO Dan Olley.

His appointment to Quilter’s board comes after NEDs Tazim Essani and Paul Matthews both announced they would stand down at the company’s AGM on 23 May.

Ruth Markland, Quilter chair, said: “[Hill’s] deep knowledge of the wealth management industry and experience as a financial services CEO and CFO will be invaluable to the board as we continue to invest in our business and deliver our strategic ambitions.

“Tazim and Paul have made significant contributions to the board, bringing a particular focus on customers, advisers and colleagues. The board is grateful to Tazim and Paul for their contribution to Quilter and wishes them well for their future endeavours.”
