Pursglove joined GSAM in October 2011 after working as Gartmore’s head of UK retail for three years, he was previously at Cazenove Capital for seven years, latterly as sales director.
GSAM said Kristina Teahan and Malcolm Mackenzie had assumed responsibilities for the group’s third party distribution in the UK, while Nick Phillips co-head of European distribution would continue to provide senior coverage for UK clients.
In his new role Pursglove will be responsible for the future development and delivery of Artemis’ retail distribution strategy in a time when the firm believes it is undergoing significant change.
Turpin said: “He will bring enormous experience, character, drive and determination, along with an energy and distinctive charm that are well recognised in our industry. His contribution will be significant to Artemis continuing to meet our clients’ needs.”
