Chopra was most recently client director at HSBC GAM, where he worked for nearly 20 years.
He will join HSBC GAM as investment director in January 2017, reporting to chief executive John Howard-Smith.
Howard-Smith said: “Sanjeev brings a wealth of industry knowledge and his experience and skills will greatly complement our core investment proposition of delivering ‘real’ inflation-plus returns, rather than benchmarking ourselves against indices that we feel are less relevant for clients.”
Investing “heavily” in its investment teams, Psigma believes it is continually strengthening its proposition.
“Despite challenging market conditions, we have strong ambitions to grow our business in the coming years and I fully expect Sanjeev to be an integral part of our future success,” added Howard-Smith.
