Both joined the firm in September 2011, following its buyout in March that year. Cockerill has until now worked as head of collectives research within the firm’s investment team.

“I want to build on the investment team that we have and expanded it with increased resources and capability, and to grow the business though having a better investment team,” he said.

“I have been here two years, and we’ve come a long way and the models we have put together have performed well. We clearly want to maintain that performance and spread the word.”

Stephens, previously CIO, is tasked with further development and growth of Signature, which has a stated aim to continuously improve the level of support and investment advice given to professional intermediary partners.

Graham Coxell, executive chairman at Rowan Dartington, said: “2013 is proving to be yet another great year. We are continuing to expand our business and develop and support our culture of excellence.

“We are delighted that two of our key people have agreed to move into these very important positions in a fast moving industry. There are no better people for the two roles.”
