Premier Miton Investors has nabbed a trio of distribution hires from Legg Mason Asset Management as it builds out its product range.

Joe O’Donnell, Tom Hoyer Millar and Bradley Worsfold join as business development managers within Premier Miton’s wealth management distribution team, significantly beefing up the existing team of five individuals. In July, their former employer Legg Mason completed its $1.5trn merger with Franklin Templeton and announced a number of changes to its senior distribution team, including the promotion of Martin Currie chief executive Julian Ide to head of distribution for Emea.

At Legg Mason, O’Donnell was head of wealth management and investment trusts. He will now be responsible for wealth manager relationships and business development in Northern England and Scotland.

Hoyer Millar, who was a business development manager for the South West, will be responsible for the Midlands and the South West while Worsfold will be responsible for East Anglia and London, alongside existing team members Gareth Stevens and Andrew Mellis. He had previously been a business development manager for the South East.

O’Donnell and Hoyer Millar have already joined while Worsfold will join in November.

Premier Miton business development director for wealth managers Neil Bridge (pictured) said: “These new hires reflect the strength of our investment range, including our equity and new fixed income funds, and our commitment to ensure our wealth manager clients receive the highest standards of service.”

Premier Miton last month unveiled two new fixed income products, the Premier Miton Strategic Monthly Income Bond and Financials Capital Securities funds. They will be run by Lloyd Harris and his team who joined in June after they were shunned by Jupiter in its acquisition of their former firm Merian Global Investors.

Also in June, Premier Miton announced it had recruited Aberdeen Standard Investments fund manager Alan Rowsell and analyst Imogen Harris to launch a global smaller companies fund. The pair joined the firm this month.
