Prior to joining Polar Capital Ton was at Ratio Asset Management where he managed the $15m Ratio European Opportunities Fund, which has now transferred to Polar.

He will be joined by his colleague from Ratio, Bradley Reynolds, who was a trader and analyst at the company and has previously worked at F&C and Gartmore.

Before Ratio, Tom worked at Millennium Capital Partners running a quasi-market neutral long/short European equities book.

He also founded Olympus Capital Management in 1997 and launched the Olympus Euro Fund, one of the first European long/short equity funds.

Tim Woolley, Chief Executive of Polar Capital, said: "Ton is one of the most experienced long/short European managers in the industry and has over 30 years of investment experience.

"We are delighted he has chosen to join us and his arrival will allow us to expand our UCITS III product offering in the coming months.”
