Mauro Ratto , formerly head of the firm’s head of investments for Europe and Asia will now become head of emerging markets, based in London, responsible for equity and bond strategies.
At the same time, Pioneer announced the recruitment of two senior investment professionals, to what it is describing as a “fortified emerging markets hub”, with further hires expected.
Reporting to Ratto, Sean Taylor joins as head of global emerging markets equity, bringing with him 18 years experience of managing emerging market equity funds, working in Asia, Eastern Europe and the Middle East. Prior to joining Pioneer he as an investment director at GAM, with responsibility for managing global emerging and frontier funds.
Before GAM he was head of global equity at Sociéte Générale Asset Management UK, running the emerging market desk.
Fabiana Fedeli is a senior portfolio manager, Asia equity, and joins from Occam Asset Management where she was co-manager of the Asia ex Japan fund. Prior to this she was a senior research analyst at Indus Capital Partners, having started her career at ING Barings as an equity research analyst covering equities in Tokyo and New York.
She will report to Angelo Corbetta, head of Asia equity.
