Based in London, Robinson will work alongside Alessandro Giuli, who moved to the team as sales director earlier in the year, and together the pair will focus on developing Pioneer’s strategic relationships with global distribution firms.
Robinson joins the company from Amundi in London where he was sales director for global financial institutions. He previously worked at Lehman Brothers Asset Management, ABN Amro Asset Management and HSBC.
In July, Pioneer announced plans to bring 19 funds of its Luxembourg-domiciled Sicavs into the UK and confirmed this will be available this week.
David Hanratty, head of global strategic partners and UK & Ireland distribution, to whom Robinson will report, said: “Further developing our long-term strategic partnerships with global distribution firms is an important part of our business strategy.
“The UK is a centre of fund and manager selection for many of these firms so it’s important we have a well-resourced, talented team to properly support these clients and demonstrate our commitment to work closely with them.”
