pimco beefs up its emerging market equity team

Pimco has added five new senior hires to its emerging market equity team across its London, New York and Singapore offices.

The most senior appointment is John Longhurst who has taken on a brand new role as head of emerging markets equity research, based in London. He will be working alongside Masha Gordon, head of emerging markets equity portfolio management, reporting to Neel Kashkari, managing director and head of global equities.

Prior to joining Pimco, he was a shareholder partner and global analyst with Capital International Research where he worked from 1996. He also has experience as an analyst with UBS and James Capel.

Richard Flax joins Longhurst in the London office as an emerging markets equity analyst; Andrew Pyne and Laura Schlockman are both emerging markets equity product managers in the New York office; Raymond Goh is the new equity trader based in Singapore.
