Thevakarrunai joins the asset manager’s fund solutions team, which is responsible for identifying and monitoring funds that could be added to the MyFolio multi-manager range.
As well as Pimco, he has also worked at State Street Global Advisers.
Thevakarrunai will be based in London and report to Bambos Hambi, head of fund of funds management at Standard Life Investments.
Hambi highlighted the important role that fund analysts play in the team, as there are more than 6,000 authorised funds available in the investment universe covered by the group’s multi-manager portfolios.
“Rickey will complement the skill-set of the current research team with a focus on fixed income analysis, ensuring that we are provided with the very best in fund research and analysis,” Hambi added.
Standard Life Investments now has eight analysts working in its fund solutions team.
