Pictet Wealth Management (PWM) has hired former Goldman Sachs private wealth management head Robert Suss to replace its outgoing UK chief executive.

Suss will step up to lead Pictet’s wealth management on 6 September and work alongside Heinrich Adami during a transitional period until the end of December when Adami retires.

Suss spent 18 years at Goldman Sachs, during which time he served as managing director, head of UK and Ireland private wealth management and head of wealth management solutions. Since leaving in 2015 he has served as a director on a number of boards and co-founded Global Tower Solutions, which invests in renewable energy assets, according to his Linkedin profile.

At PWM he will report to Sven Holstenson, head of Europe.

Pictet Group managing partner Marc Pictet said Suss “shares our sense of tradition and strong entrepreneurial spirit” and “will help us further develop our already strong UK business”.

He thanked Adami for his “outstanding work” for Pictet in the UK over the last 25 years, including the “tremendous growth” of the London office. “He embodies the professionalism and attention to detail that clients have come to expect at Pictet,” the managing partner said. “We wish him all the best in his retirement.”
