PGIM hires international distribution head from BNY Mellon

Matt Shafer will lead the firm’s growth plans in retail and wholesale markets outside the US

PGIM has appointed Matt Shafer as head of international distribution.

Based in London, Shafer will lead the firm’s growth plans in wholesale and retail markets outside of the US.

In the newly created role, he will focus on developing PGIM’s relationships with independent wealth managers, fund of funds, family offices and other distributors.

Shafer joins after a year at BNY Mellon, where he was head of European distribution. He previously served as head of international distribution at Natixis in an eight year stint at the investment manager.
