Multi-family office Callanish Capital has hired David Kerr and Peter Sleep (pictured) as investment directors.

Based in London, Sleep joins after 17 years at Seven Investment Management (7IM) where he was a senior portfolio manager. He will work alongside Callanish co-founder Oliver Murray.

Sleep was a manager on 7IM’s asset allocated passive (AAP) range at its inception in 2008, while he was also lead manager on the wealth manager’s discretionary fund management (DFM) passive range before exiting 7IM in April.

Meanwhile, Kerr exited Investec Wealth & Investment in May and will join Callanish’s Glasgow office, working alongside investment director and co-founder Laura Kyle.

He brings two decades of experience in portfolio management to the firm after previous roles at Barclays Wealth and Investec.

“I look forward to playing my part in helping to deliver outstanding investment performance and exceptional client service, and I view our independence and owner-managed structure as vital in achieving that. We are fully committed to building a successful business for the long term,” Kerr said.

Callanish Capital launched in 2022 and specialises in managing discretionary portfolios on behalf of high net worth families and individuals. The firm has since grown to £250m assets under management.
