Their current manager, Jonathan Schiessl, head of equities, will concentrate on the firm’s Asian funds.

Pechlaner has been a member of Ashburton’s European equity team since she joined the firm in 2008. She will now work closely with Nick Lee, director of investment and fund management, who will also take on the role as her co-manager on the funds. They also manage the newly rebranded Ashburton Maestro Core Equity Fund which will be run along similar lines to the newly launched Global Equity Portfolio.

Before arriving at Ashburton, Pechlaner was an executive director at Goldman Sachs, where she started her career in 2001 as a Pan European equity research specialist.

The funds that Pechlaner is taking over from Schiessl are dollar (with $8.8m in assets) and sterling (£18m) versions of the same International Equity Fund that is authorised for sale in Jersey, Guernsey, UK, Sweden, Australia and South Africa.

Peter Bourne, managing director of Ashburton comments: “Veronika has made a valuable contribution to the European team and we are pleased that she has now accepted this opportunity to grow our global equity offering. Ashburton has always had a strong regional fund tradition, as building blocks within our multi-asset funds and as standalone funds; Veronika will play an important role in building global equity as a key area of opportunity for the business.”
