Stephen Peak is to be replaced by Ollie Beckett as manager of the Henderson European Growth Trust.

From 1 July, Ollie Beckett will take over Peak’s responsibilities for the TREG portfolio with Simon Savill remaining as assistant fund manager.

Peak will concentrate on his existing role as head of Henderson’s pan-European equities investment team that has recently increased in responsibilities given the acquisition of Gartmore. He will continue to run funds including the Cayman-domiciled European Absolute Return Fund and his UK Alpha Fund.

Subject to the relevant approvals, the Gartmore UK Growth Fund previously managed by Leigh Himsworth will merge into Peak’s Henderson UK Alpha Fund.

Beckett joined the Henderson pan-European equities investment team in 2005 and the TREG team in 2010. He has 15 years experience in continental European equity markets across a variety of mandates and has specialised in smaller companies for over five years.

He will also remain as manager of the £420m Henderson Horizon Pan-European Smaller Companies Fund and it is his small cap expertise that Peak points to as a key to the future running of the TREG portfolio.
