Portfolio Adviser’s investment reporter Christian Mayes has won the Association of Investment Companies’ (AIC’s) inaugural Helen Pridham Rising Star Award.
At an event yesterday evening (19 September), Mayes scooped the prestigious award for his coverage of investment companies during his year in the industry.
The Helen Pridham Rising Star Award recognises talented journalists across both trade and national publications, who have up to two years’ experience in the industry. It was created to commemorate the work and achievements of the late Helen Pridham, who worked as a journalist for more than 40 years and regularly reported on investment trusts.
Mayes said: “I’m delighted to have received the Helen Pridham Rising Star award at the AIC Media Awards, having thoroughly enjoyed covering all things investment trusts since joining Portfolio Adviser in September 2022.
“I would like to say a big thank you to my editors and the wider Mark Allen Financial Media team for all their support during my first year in the industry.”
