PA Video Insight: Are financials the future for income seekers?

Capital ratios for US financials are in the best shape they have been since the late 1930s, with the sector looking a good value play with yield opportunities, according to BNY manager John Bailer.

Bailer, who runs US dividend portfolios at The Boston Company, says he has around 29% financials exposure in his portfolios, with his holdings in this sector yielding around 3.4%.

He believes US financials are cheap, are subject to positive estimate revisions, and have taken the right level of self-help action in terms of cost cutting since the financial crisis.

In this video, he also talks about how monetary policy has run its course, with fiscal policy set to take up the slack, regardless of who wins the US election.
