Having assumed the role on 14 September, Oliver Lee will be based out of OMGI’s Hong Kong office.

He is to work across three funds: OM Asian Equity Income, OM Pacific Equity and OM Greater China Equity.

Lee will work alongside head of Asian equities Josh Crabb, portfolio manager Diamond Lee, and analysts Kris Whitlock and Dmitry Lapidus – all of whom joined the firm in the past year.

The appointment represents another chapter in OMGI’s bolstering of its Asian equities capability, which received regulatory approval to run funds out of Hong Kong in April this year.

“Oliver will be a valuable addition to our Hong Kong-based team,” said Crabb. “He has extensive experience in Asian equities, spanning both long and long/short strategies. I look forward to working with him as we continue to enhance our Asian equities offering.”

Lee arrives from an alternative strategies-focused role with Schroder Investment Management, prior to which he held positions with Sloane Robinson, Goldman Sachs and UBS.
