Odey Asset Management is in ‘advanced talks’ with investment boutique SW Mitchell Capital regarding the transferral of four European equity funds.

In an investor letter published on Odey AM’s website, CFO and COO Michael Ede Brook confirmed that the strategies in question were the Continental European Fund, Brook European Focus Fund, Odey Pan European Fund, and Brook European Focus Absolute Return Fund.

Oliver Kelton, who manages the four funds, would also move to SW Mitchell as part of the transfer.

The discussions are subject to due diligence and approvals from the fund board, authorised corporate director, management company, and regulator.

SW Mitchell is a single-strategy firm, running a long-only European Ucits equity fund.

Ede said similar discussions were ongoing in relation the transferral of some of its other funds.

Two other European funds from Crispin Odey’s (pictured) former firm, the OEI Mac and Odey European hedge fund, have suspended trading after redemption requests for its next dealing day, on 3 July, amounted to 35% and 19% respectively.
