Ladjemi will be focusing on developing relationships with private banks and wealth management firms in his new role. He joins Octopus from Draycott Capital, a fund raising and advisory boutique that he co-founded. The firm specialised in fund raising through start-ups, Venture Capital Trusts (VCT) and Enterprise Investment Schemes (EIS) for high net worth clients.

Prior to Draycott Lotfi worked as a sales director at Amundi Asset Management for two years, where he was responsible for managing accounts with financial institutions including UBS and JP Morgan. Ladjemi has also worked at Citi Private Bank and Macquarie Bank.

Octopus Investments specialises in property, healthcare, energy and smaller company investing and is partnering with private banks and wealth management firms. The hire of Ladjemi follows Octopus’s appointment last month of Tim Lambert to the company’s strategic partnerships team.

“We’re absolutely committed to becoming the partner of choice for wealth managers as we see increased demand from high net worths and family offices for tax efficient investments on the back of the latest pension reforms,” said Steve Skelding, head of wealth management at Octopus.

He continued: “Ladjemi brings in-depth knowledge of the wealth management industry and has a strong understanding of investors’ needs, both of which will prove invaluable as we work more closely with the wealth management community. His entrepreneurial spirit makes him an excellent fit for Octopus as we continue to think of how best to support our clients.”

Founded in 2000, Octopus manages more than £5.5bn of funds on behalf of 50,000 investors.
