Nucleus Financial Platforms has appointed Laura Barnes (pictured) as director of business development.

Joining from Parmenion, where she was head of intermediary distribution for almost three years, Barnes will take up the newly-created role on 2 May.

With 25 years industry experience, she has previously held senior sales roles at Aegon, Axa Group and Cofunds.

Paul Bagley, Nucleus distribution director, said: “[Barnes] is well known and respected across the industry, and her significant platform knowledge, experience in understanding advisers’ needs, and proven ability to develop and inspire high performing teams, will help us keep our growth plans on track.”
