He was also the lead portfolio manager of the CT Sustainable Opportunities Global Equity strategy from launch in 2015 to 2024.

Henderson will be based in London and report to Richard Kruse, managing director and global head of equities at Nomura.

Henderson commented: I am thrilled to join Nomura at such a pivotal time. Whilst some firms appear to be dialling back their commitment to sustainable investing, my conversations across Nomura AM point to a very different vision. The firm has a strong global foundation and clear ambitions for the Global Sustainable Equity strategy, and I’m incredibly excited for what the future holds.

“I look forward to working closely with the rest of the equities division and the comprehensive analyst network across the firm to deliver strong risk-adjusted returns, while also maintaining a clear and unwavering commitment to invest in companies whose core operations are delivering demonstrable positive outcomes for environmental and societal challenges faced around the world.”

Douglas Stewart, managing director, head of EMEA distribution, added: “Nick brings deep experience in sustainable investing, with a proven ability to deliver strong risk-adjusted returns through varying market conditions. His appointment reflects our commitment to accelerating growth in sustainable investing and delivering exceptional outcomes for clients looking to invest through a sustainable lens.”

Henderson left Columbia Threadneedle at the end of December 2025. Following his departure, Matthew Van de Schootbrugge took over as lead portfolio manager of the CT Sustainable Global Equity Income strategy and Claire Franklin was named deputy portfolio manager on the CT Responsible Global Equity strategy.
