Newton Investment Management has appointed Liliana Castillo Dearth (pictured) to lead the firm’s emerging market and Asia equities team.
She joins from Wellington Management, where she was a portfolio manager.
Based in London, Castillo Dearth will report to Newton equities CIO John Porter and will work closely with portfolio managers Alex Khosla and Zoe Kan.

Castillo Dearth previously spent 18 years at Alliance Bernstein, where she held roles including lead portfolio manager of international and emerging markets portfolios.
“Emerging market and Asia equities remain a strategic focus for Newton, and we continue to see strong demand in our capabilities,” said Newton CEO Euan Munro. “Liliana will play an important role in the development of this area of our equity offering.”
