Rob Drijkoningen and Gorky Urquieta, co-heads of Neuberger Berman’s EM debt team will be lead managers and are also heads of a 24 person global multi-site emerging market debt team. The firm’s total fixed income group now has over 100 staffers.
“We believe that the breadth of our team gives us the expertise required to fully exploit alpha opportunities across this asset class,” Drijkoningen said.
The firm’s UCITS fund range already includes emerging market debt hard currency, local currency and corporate debt funds introduced in July 2013, and a short duration emerging market debt fund launched in December 2013.
The introduction of the new UICTS fund means the platform has a total of 21 funds across asset classes totalling US$18bn in assets under management.
Neuberger Berman announced last week it had hired ex Alcentra and AXA manager Andrew Wilmont as its new lead European high yield manager.
