As focus on environmental, social and governance criteria grows, Morningstar said its new indices would help investors, advisors and asset managers track the sustainability of their investments and leverage emerging research on ESG-based issues worldwide.
With more than 25 indices covering broad regional, developed, and emerging markets as well as single country exposures, the Morningstar Sustainability Index suite draws on independent equity research on more than 1,400 companies, and company sustainability scores covering more than 60 ESG metrics.
It also draws on Morningstar’s own Sustainability Rating for more than 20,000 funds, which launched earlier this year.
