The changes come after Needham stepped up to become president and chief investment officer in January – part of a restructure of its UK management functions.

Kemp joined Morningstar in May last year as co-head of investment consulting and portfolio management.

Previously he worked at Albermarle Street Partners, and prior to that was with Saltus Partners as a multi-asset fund of funds manager.

Johnson, who like Kemp was co-head of investment consulting and portfolio management, has been with Morningstar since 2007.

His remit includes oversight of the Morningstar OBSR Managed Portfolios Service, the firm’s adviser-channelled discretionary funds management offering.

“Dan and Robin are outstanding portfolio managers and advocates for end investors, committed to delivering great investment results for clients,” Needham said.

“Together they have had tremendous positive impact on the growth of our service offerings for our clients and I’m excited about these appointments. Under Dan’s leadership, the EMEA investment team is well positioned to continue to deliver strong investment outcomes and provide valuable support to our business operations within EMEA.”

The Morningstar Investment Management group consists of 105 investment professionals advising clients and managing portfolios worldwide and leverages the analysis of Morningstar’s 100 manager research analysts.
