Brown Shipley has recruited Morningstar multi-asset manager Cyrique Bourbon (pictured) to head up its asset allocation process.
Based in London, Bourbon will take over as asset allocation strategist and become a senior member of the wealth manager’s investment office, reporting into chief investment officer Toby Vaughan.
He has 15 years of investment experience, including nearly six years at Morningstar Investment Management Europe where he was co-manager on the firm’s £1bn Active MPS range. The Active portfolios are one of six families of portfolios at Morningstar and are overseen by head of multi-asset portfolio management Mike Coop and CIO Dan Kemp.
Before this he worked as a senior fund manager at Merrill Lynch Wealth Management and was an analyst for OBSR which was eventually absorbed by Morningstar.
Vaughan said bringing Bourbon on board was in line with the firm’s plans to develop its investment proposition.
“I am delighted to welcome Cyrique to our investment office,” he said. “The depth of his asset management expertise will prove instrumental as we continue to bolster our investment management proposition, which is a key part of Brown Shipley’s fully integrated wealth management service.”
Brown Shipley has been on a hiring spree this year already, snapping up Amrendra Sinha as head of direct equity in a newly created role and Nick Cringle as regional head, North West.
