Needham’s responsibilities will include overseeing management and consulting operations in Europe, and he will chair the firm’s global investment policy committee.
He was previously managing director and chief executive officer, Asia Pacific, where he led the firm’s research, asset allocation, and portfolio management capabilities. He will continue in this capacity until the appointment of a new chief investment officer, Asia-Pacific.
Needham has been with the firm since 2009 following the acquisition of Intech Investments, where he had worked since 2002.
He will relocate to London once the new CIO, Asia Pacific has been installed.
Richard Romer-Lee, co-founder of Old Broad Street Research (OBSR), left his role as managing director of European operations in October last year along with Nigel Whittingham, managing director of Morningstar OBSR in the UK, who joined OBSR in 2007.
