Brunner, who joined Morningstar Investment Management Europe in 2010, also penned the firm’s monthly Global Investment Strategy and Asset Allocation report.
His career in financial services spans 40 years and included senior strategist positions at the Laurentian Group, Prolific Asset Management and Aberdeen Asset Management.
Dan Kemp CIO at Morningstar wished Brunner the best in his retirement from full-time service in the City, calling him “a tremendous asset to Morningstar.”
“His insights, gained through four decades of experience, have served us well as we’ve expanded our advisory and discretionary offerings in Europe,” Kemp added.
Brunner himself said: “I have been lucky enough to have had an extremely interesting and exciting 40-year career in the capital markets. I now feel it is time to step back, but will continue to take a keen and active role in the markets through various advisory and consultancy positions.”
The Morningstar global investment strategy team has assumed Brunner’s responsibilities following his departure at the beginning of September.
