Morningstar appoints new UK consulting head

Morningstar Investment Management has named Diane Earnshaw as its new head of UK Consulting.

Earnshaw has been at Morningstar since 2010 with following the company’s acquisition of Old Broad Street Research. Previously, Earnshaw had been leading the company’s UK multi-asset fund coverage as well as managing some key consultancy relationships. She has over 18 years of experience in manager appraisal and selection.

Edward Fane also joins the group as senior investment consultant and portfolio manager. He moves over after nine years at DFM Thesis Asset Management where he co-managed the its Optima fund-of-funds range and model portfolio service.

Fane will provide best practice investment consulting and portfolio management services to advisers, institutional investors, wealth managers, foundations, and insurance companies.

“Diane has broad experience working within the UK fund industry, and her appointment will further support our provision of the highest level of investment advice and service to all our UK clients to improve investor outcomes,” said Robin Johnson, co-head with Dan Kemp of investment consulting and portfolio management for EMEA.

“Edward brings significant investment management experience to our team, adding a further level of expert insight and support for our clients,” he added.

Morningstar Investment Management has approximately $169bn in assets under advisement and management.
