Following a study sabbatical taken in September Morgan chose not to return to Adam & Co and will take up the role of head of private investment at Thomas Miller instead. Portfolio Adviser reported on the shake-up at Adam & Co this morning.
He will oversee the creation of the onshore business to complement Thomas Miller Investment’s existing private client operation in the Isle of Man.
Based in Edinburgh he will work closely with the 15-strong investment team whom currently look after £2.7bn across a range of asset classes for both institutional and private clients.
Morgan’s former colleague at Adam & Co, Andrew Herberts, will join as deputy head of private client investments and further expansion is expected in due course.
The private client team in the Isle of Man has six members, managing £200m of assets.
Mike Balfour, chief executive of Thomas Miller, said: "Harry’s appointment is testament to the appeal of Thomas Miller Group’s heritage and our serious intent to develop a UK private client business which builds on our existing experience and expertise. Our clients want to preserve capital during difficult economic times and Harry’s skill and experience will complement their requirements and our existing team very well.”
