Telecoms is one area where Wright expects to see most opportunity in the coming years, with 14.5% of the new fund exposed to the sector.

Currently at the bottom of a “trough”, a growing demand for data and a softening grip from regulators looks set to boost returns in the sector over the coming years Wright said.

“This is the trough of Telco returns, a long term trend is emerging. Most of our exposure is in emerging markets where growth is a bit stronger,” he added.

The fund will sit within the IA Global Equity Income sector and aim for a dividend yield of 4%, but will not adhere to a benchmark.

The fund’s annual management charge will be 0.75%, capped at 1.5%, for retail investors with a minimum investment of £1,000.
