Godber and Hamilton resigned as managers of the £860m fund last month to join Polar Capital.
Jackson joins on Monday 27th June. His last fund management role was managing the UK Equity Growth Fund at Ecclesiastical Investment Management (now EdenTree).
He spent over 11 years there before leaving in July 2015.
From November 2003 to July 2015 his fund returned 263.7% compared to 153.3% for the sector average and 151.5% for the FTSE All Share Index.
Earlier in his career Jackson was responsible for UK and Irish equity investments at Canada Life, he managed the specialist UK small cap funds for Lloyds Investment Managers and helped to set up the smaller companies desk at SG Asset Management.
Miton’s managing director Gervais Williams said: “Andrew has all of the strengths for the role, including a record of impressive returns over an extended period. He is very well suited to taking a leadership role on the CF Miton UK Value Opportunities Fund, given the fund already has a history of delivering attractive returns, with stock weightings that are largely independent of the mainstream indices. At Miton we have a history of recruiting fund managers who can excel within our genuinely active investing culture.”
Jackson added: “I am delighted to be joining Miton and excited by this opportunity. I am looking forward to taking on the management of the fund.”
