Mirabaud Asset Management has added a portfolio manager from Aviva Investors to its emerging markets equities team.
Bryony Deuchars has joined the firm as a deputy portfolio manager, reporting to head of global emerging market equities Dan Tubbs.
Deuchars, who has 15 years’ investment experience, was previously a lead portfolio manager on several of Aviva Investors’ emerging markets equity strategies and led its coverage of developing world consumer staples and Latam/EMEA financials.
Before joining Aviva Investors, she was an emerging markets equity analyst at Schroders and WestAm.
Mirabaud head of investments Umberto Boccato said Deuchars’ experience in the under-researched Latam and EMEA regions will be a “great addition to the team”.
He added: “Emerging market equities remain a vitally important asset class for investors and we believe our concentrated, high conviction approach is best placed to extract alpha in the developing world during the next phase of the cycle.”
