The company said the fund, which is part of its Luxembourg SICAV, will aim to deliver attractive and growing income from dividends, with a lower level of risk and volatility than the broad all-countries equity index (MSCI AC World). It will also have the potential for capital appreciation.

Kirill Pyshkin, who will manage the fund, said he will achieve his mandate by building a “well-diversified, high-conviction, concentrated” global equities portfolio.

He said: “Our investment philosophy is that of value investors with focus on income; so we buy companies with higher than average and sustainably growing dividends that are attractively valued.”

The fund will be co-managed by Anu Narula, head of global equity team. Narula joined the company last year from Axa Framlington, where he managed its global income fund.

Head of asset management, Lionel Aeschlimann, said: “We are very excited about entering the Irish market where Kiril is already well known and respected through his excellent stewardship of the High Yield Equity fund.”

Pyshkin joined the company in a newly created role in January, where he was tasked with managing the firm’s Global Equity Income Fund.

He was a senior fund manager, global equities at Aviva Investors, where he was in charge of its flagship retail equity fund in the Irish Market, the Aviva Ireland High Yield Equity Fund.
