Bond fund manager Mike Riddell (pictured) is set to exit Allianz Global Investors in July.
A spokesperson for the firm said he would be leaving to pursue an opportunity elsewhere after eight years at Allianz.
Riddell has served as head of the macro unconstrained team since 2020, having previously spent 12 years with M&G Investments as a fixed income portfolio manager.
He has led the £924m Allianz Strategic Bond fund since 2015.
From June, all strategies managed by Riddell will be passed onto AllianzGI’s global markets team, led by core fixed income CIO Julian Le Beron.
“Adopting a team-based, co-lead approach brings the strategies in-line with the rest of AllianzGI’s wider €170bn fixed income platform and will be beneficial in terms of expanding the inputs into strategies, while still allowing the Macro Unconstrained strategies to continue to be run in line with their existing investment objectives and guidelines,” the spokesperson added.
