M&G Prudential has appointed Clare Thompson as non-executive director and chair of the audit committee as as it finalises its preparations to demerge from Prudential.
Thompson (pictured) joins with over 35 years’ experience, having spent 23 years as lead audit partner on major financial services groups at PWC, predominantly in the insurance and investment sectors.
She is currently a non-executive director at Bupa and Direct Line Group.
Board composition set
In March 2018, Prudential announced its intention to demerge M&G Prudential, which is expected to complete by the end of 2019.
In a regulatory update on Tuesday, the firm said: “With Ms Thompson’s appointment, the composition of the board is set for the demerger of M&G Prudential from Prudential plc.”
Mike Evans, chair of M&G Prudential, said Thompson has a “wealth of experience from a distinguished career in global financial services and as a non-executive director”.
At the point of demerger, the M&G Prudential board will consist of: Evans as chair, John Foley as chief executive, Clare Bousfield as chief financial officer, Caroline Silver as senior independent non-executive director, Clive Adamson as non-executive director and chair of the risk committee, Robin Lawther as non-executive director and chair of the remuneration committee and Thompson.
