M&G has promoted Alex Matcham to head of UK wholesale, Portfolio Adviser has learned.
Matcham (pictured), who has been with M&G since 2008, was previously a sales director covering London and the Channel Islands.
His appointment follows the departures of previous head of UK wholesale Andrew Watson in 2019, who has since resurfaced at Seven Investment Management, and head of UK retail and institutional sales Neil Brown, who left M&G in September for Allianz Global Investors.
Matcham has occupied a number of regional sales roles at M&G, including as a client relationship manager, covering the London discretionary market, and sales director, covering the Midlands, South West and Channel Islands.
Prior to joining M&G, he worked for Hargreaves Lansdown in Bristol as a Sipp consultant.
