M&G hires sustainability head from Credit Suisse

M&G Investments has appointed Michael van der Meer (pictured) to succeed Rob Marshall as head of sustainability.

He joins from Credit Suisse, where he was head of sustainable investment analysts within the firm’s global wealth management arm.

Based in Zurich, Van Der Meer took up the role on 10 July and leads the M&G Asset Management sustainability team.

Prior to Credit Suisse, he headed up sustainable investment research at Robeco Switzerland and was responsible for integrating sustainability into investment decisions for both their fundamental and quant strategies.

Meanwhile, Rob Marshall has left the firm after over 20 years, in which time he held various roles including global head of research.

An M&G spokesperson told Portfolio Adviser: “After over 20 years with M&G, Rob Marshall has decided to leave his role leading our stewardship and sustainability team to take time out and to consider his next career move. He will leave with our thanks for his contribution and dedication to the business and with our very best wishes for the future.”
