The fund has been available to US investors since its launch in 2005 and has now been added to the company’s Luxembourg-domiciled Ucits compliant fund range.

Matthews said the fund, which is managed by Sharat Shroff with co-manager Sunil Asnani, employs a bottom-up all-cap approach but with a focus on small- and mid-sized companies. It has a long term investment horizon and aims to invest in firms with “strong management teams and sustainable business models.” Matthews added that that fund would be benchmark “agnostic” and will aim to be fully invested at all times.

“The ongoing liberalization of India’s capital markets provides an opportunity to invest in an economy that is growing when many parts of the world are slowing,” said Sharat Shroff. “Rising household income, greater availability of capital, and the emergence of private sector enterprises are driving India’s economic expansion.”
