Taylor, who starts his new job in July, will be based in Edinburgh and will report to Andrew Graham, investment director, head of Asia.
He joins the firm from a specialist IT business, where he was chief financial officer. He has previously worked as investment director at private equity firm Boundary Capital, and began his career at Goldman Sachs before a stint at Morgan Stanley.
Funds under the management of the Asian team include the Martin Currie Asia Pacific and Asia Long-Term Unconstrained Funds.
